FAQ s

How far out are you booking?

I’m currently booking weddings + elopements for 2023 + 2024

I’m booking family, maternity, newborn, + other sessions for 2023

What should I wear?!

First and foremost, wear something that you are comfortable in and that you feel good in!!! Neutrals (cream, earth tones, blues, greens, etc.) all tend to photograph well. It’s generally best to stay away from big patterns, prints, and bold logos. If our session is somewhere rocky or involves a hike, wear footwear that won’t kill your feet, or bring a change of shoes to wear just for the photos.

How long will it take to get my photos?

For a wedding, 8-12 weeks is written in my contract, but I will always try to get them to you much sooner than that (think 4-8 weeks!)

For other sessions, it takes about a month on average, often sooner.

You will also always get a sneak peek within 2-3 days :)

Do you have a second shooter?

I primarily work alone, and find that a wedding day can be adequately covered with just one photographer. However - I get that multiple perspectives is important to a lot of folks (I had a second shooter at my own wedding!) and I have photographer friends I can ask to shoot with me with enough notice :) Please inquire for more details + additional costs.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! I am happy to offer gift cards. They are redeemable within one year from the date of purchase.

Do you have travel fees?

I will happily travel to you wherever, whenever!

I do not charge a travel fee for any session within one hour of my home address in South Portland, ME

Please contact me for a specific quote!

Do I have to put down a deposit?

Yes. A ~40% nonrefundable deposit secures your date on my calendar. The remainder is due at the time of your session/event.

How long have you been doing photography?

Great question! I officially started my business in January 2022.

Howeverrrr, I have been an avid photographer for as long as I can remember. I graduated nursing school in 2014, and my mom’s graduation present to me was a Canon Rebel T3i. (I grew up with my mom having her film camera attached to her hip, so it’s genetic, I guess!) I took every photography class I could get my hands on.

I’ve had my professional gear since 2018, since I wanted to take great photos way before deciding to pursue a business. I work seamlessly with my gear since I’ve had years of using it. So, long answer to a short question, but, I’ve been doing this awhile, and don’t plan on stopping my growth anytime soon!

Why is photography so expensive?

Photography is an investment for many reasons. The cost of your session is not only for the photos you receive, but also covers equipment costs (which are easily in the thousands between camera body, lenses, SD cards, batteries, flash, renting special equipment), the time spent coordinating your session/event, travel from A to B (even for local sessions), and the experience of your photographer. It is 1000% worth hiring the photographer you feel connected to + trust to capture special moments because you will have these special memories forever + to share with your loved ones for generations to come. <3
